Tips

  •   Deep freeze ghee packets for an hour or two. You will be able to empty the ghee from the  plastic bag without any wastage. 
  •   To remove the shell of boiled eggs easily, add little amount of salt to the water before boiling.               
  •  Add rice grains while boiling the eggs to know easily that the eggs are boiled.
  •  While cooking rice add a few drops of  lemon juice. The  color of the grains become bright white.
  •  While cooking rice add few drops of oil.so that the you will find the grains of rice remain separate.
  •  Refrigerate leftover cooked rice in a well-sealed container. Reheat cold rice with  sprinkling of water in a microwave oven  over low heat.   It makes leftovers into something fresh and new.
  • Refrigerate onions before chopping or cut them into 2 halves and put them in the water.so that u can avoid crying while chopping them.
  •  For a tasty and fluffy omlette, add one teaspoon of breadcrumbs to the beaten egg. 
  •  Sometimes we buy eggs in bulk and keep them for too long at home and later we get a doubt whether to use them or not. Take 1 glass of water, drop a egg in it. If the egg immediately settles down, then its a fresh egg. It means you can use it. And if the egg starts floating in water, then its an old egg which you should not use it further. So throw it.
  • To avoid browning of apples after cutting,apply a little lemon juice on the cut surface.The apples will stay and look fresh for a longer time. 
  • Keep coriander leaves in a muslin cloth bag in the refrigerator.They will remain fresh for a long time.
  • Remove the stems of green chillies while storing them.This will help them to stay fresh for long.
  • Soak almonds in a cup of boiling water for 10minutes.So the  skin will peel off easily.
  • Wrap the leafy vegetables in a wet cloth before refrigerating to keep them fresh for long.
  • To chop dry fruits ,freeze them first for one hour& then dip the knife into hot water before chopping them.
  • Wash vegetables before peeling or chopping to preserve the water soluble vitamins.
  • If u boil vegetables in water, do not throw the water.Use it for gravies to preserve the minerals n vitamins.
  • Peel vegetables as thinly as possible to preserve the minerals n vitamins.
  • To make pooris more crispy add a little rice flour to the wheat flour while kneading.
  • To make pakodas crispy add little corn flour to besan while preparing the batter.
